| Hello again!
Here's the little pumpkin girl with her big brother Harry Potter.
Hopefully next year it won't be pouring outside on Halloween (although
that did mean more leftover candy for me...!). |

ready for some FOOTBALL...?!?" |

Ok,
so we had our first big snow of the season and as the three of
us are watching Carter shovel the sidewalk (Mommy says it
was his idea...) Daddy says "Hey! Let's take little
Annaliesa out and introduce her to snow!" thinking she would
have great fun and we'd all laugh and have a grand ol' time and
everything went perfectly as Mommy carried her outside and held
her as we lowered her little hand into the snow and her face lit
up in the amazement of the new experience and then... she realized
it was cold. Very cold. And then things got a little ugly. Daddy
spent the next hour apologizing to little Annaliesa, and he thinks
that she's forgiven him. At least he hopes so...! |

Santa Claus! And given all the presents she got under the tree,
Santa must have forgiven Annaliesa the death grip she had on his

Here are Carter and Annaliesa on Christmas morn', eagerly awaiting
ripping into the presents. If you think you see Merlin's tail
in the picture, you probably ought to get your eyes checked....

Well, Annaliesa has been battling a nasty cold-type thingie for
the past week (yes, complete with runny nose, pathetic sounding
little coughs, and constant crying), so she hasn't been up
to her usual photogenic self. So, in the fine tradition of media
empires everywhere, instead of a new picture we will delve into
the archives. Here, then, are Oregano (dark) and Paprika
(orange) inspecting the brand-new arrival on her first
in-house live appearance. Merlin and Aggie were still hiding under
the couch at this point. Hopefully Annaliesa will be feeling better
soon...!

After much chasing and scrabbling through the underbrush, Grandma
Sue finally managed to catch the Easter Bunny. One of these days,
unfortunately, I guess we're going to have to release her back
into the wild, or else we won't get our cut of jelly-belly Easter
eggs next year. |

Annaliesa playing with Alexander at his first birthday party.
Zander lives down the street from us and is about two weeks older
than Annaliesa, and therefore, at least according to Christine
and Stacey, Zander's mom, they are already betrothed and destined
to marry. Of course, as Annaliesa's daddy keeps pointing out,
Annaliesa is already grounded until she's twenty-one, and after
that she's only allowed out with boys if they're chaparoned by
two adults and she's home by 7pm, so he's not too sure when this
marriage thing will take place. We'll keep you updated, tho'. |

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Annaliesa
When she was just small |

Our little Annaliesa Rose turned one this past Friday; I coulda
sworn she was born just a few weeks ago...! Looking over these
pictures from the past year it's hard to believe how much our
little rosebud has grown, and rumor has it that there is a lot
more yet to come. I'm scared, but it's an excited kind of scared;
I can't wait to watch her grow and see what the future holds for
her. On second thought, scratch that; let's keep her young, happy,
and giggly as long as possible! In any case, here is the obligatory
shot of Annaliesa enjoying her birthday cake. |
| Here are a few more current (2007) photos for you folks looking for them... |

August 25, 2007 - Ok, so it's been a while. In fact, I suppose we can't even call it a "Picture of the Week" anymore, can we? How about "Picture of the Quarter?" In any case, Urbana had it's annual Sweetcorn Festival this past weekend, with rides, munchies from local restaurants, live music 'til the wee hours of the early evening, and, amazingly enough, sweetcorn. Supposedly the corn is from around these parts, but last year's scandal was that the corn actually came from Hoopeston, about 50 miles (200 by bike) northeast of us, and I didn't hear anything about the corn's provenance this year around so for all I know it was imported from, *gasp*, Indiana. Let's hope not. But it decided not to rain that day so we met up with some friends from our previous 'hood (including Zander, Annaliesa's future hubby if you recall from previous posts, although I'm still not convinced that I won't ground Annaliesa 'til she's 36) and strolled out there and had a lovely lunch. Including corn. Annaliesa likes corn. Next year we're going to have to bring a couple of boxes of wet-wipes so we can clean her up afterwards. Or maybe wrap her in plastic first. We'll figure something out. |
